Friends of a racehorse trainer from Oxfordshire have spoken of their sadness after he was found dead in his home.
Jamie Douglas-Home, of East Lockinge, near Wantage, would have been 62 this week and trained for around 10 years in the 1970s and ’80s before going on to work as a journalist. He was the nephew of former Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home.
Three-time Gold Cup-winning trainer Henrietta Knight, who employed Mr Douglas-Home’s wife Christine as her secretary for 27 years, said: “ liked, fun-loving man.”
Police are not treating Mr Douglas-Home’s death as suspicious.
He leaves a daughter, Emily, who lives in London.
