YEAR 5 pupils from across the region gathered at Test Valley School to show their potential at a Challenge Day.

It was the first Year 5 Challenge Day for able pupils to take place at Test Valley School and the response from the primary schools in the area saw 13 schools sending 55 pupils between them.

The objective of the day was to challenge the Year 5 pupils to work to or above their potential.

They were encouraged to work not only with pupils they already knew but also with pupils from other local primary schools they met for the first time on the day to promote interaction and the development of team work skills.

Before arriving the pupils had chosen which activities to participate in over the course of three workshops.

The five choices were; Creating Nemo (art), Weather forecast (Italian), Sports Nutrition Coach (science), Ice Cream Factory (maths) and 50 word storywriting (English).

Pupils pushed themselves to create the work both as individuals and as part of a team.
