Pupils get an Eiffel of French culture and cuisine
7:30am Saturday 7th June 2014 in News
HISTORY lessons about the French Revolution and cooking from recipes in a foreign language were “très bon” at North Leigh Primary School’s first French Day.
Pupils learnt about the Eiffel Tower and the famous Impressionist painter Monet.
Jacob Grindlet, seven, said: “I liked making the biscuits all in French. I was a bit nervous because we had to do everything in French and I didn't think we would be able to do understand but it was actually quite easy.”
Years 4 and 5 teacher Julie Squires said: “The day went down really well, so we hope to do another one next year, maybe with a different country. The children learn French as a language so we wanted give them extra awareness of the culture and the country.”
Pupils also sang French songs and built their own Eiffel Tower models.
