A RAPIST has been jailed for abusing four young girls more than 20 years ago.

Danny Prin was jailed for 14 years for raping and indecently assaulting the children when they were aged between six and 10. The 37-year-old, of Kennet Close in Bicester, had denied the crimes, which took place between 1993 and 1995 in Oxford.

But on Wednesday, a jury found him guilty of the abuse following a trial at Oxford Crown Court.

Speaking after the sentencing, investigating officer Dc Matthew Hodgetts said the abuse had emerged when one of Prin’s victims told a therapist in 2011.

He said the victim then contacted the police in 2012 and also named other possible victims.

Dc Hodgetts said he was glad justice had caught up with Prin. He said: “As the victims gave evidence, it became apparent that what happened has continued to affect them. I hope the fact that a jury has believed them will help them move forward with their lives.”

Prin was convicted of 10 counts of indecent assault, six of indecency with children and four of rape. He admitted one indecent assault and was acquitted of one count of indecent assault.
