A 27-year-old died after taking a cocktail of drugs and alcohol, a coroner said yesterday.

Police and paramedics found Anne-Marie Gale unresponsive when called to her Dover Avenue home in January, where a flatmate was attempting CPR. She died later at the Horton Hospital.

A toxicology report found that she had 225mg of alcohol in her blood and that she had taken two antidepressants.

A 49-year-old man was originally arrested and bailed on suspicion of manslaughter. He has now been released without charge.

Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter recorded a verdict of death related to drugs and alcohol.

He said there had been an allegation of an assault in the days before her death, but there were no eyewitnesses and Thames Valley Police is not investigating.
