A YELLOW weather warning for fog has been issued for Oxfordshire this morning.

The alert is in place until 9.30am and the Met Office warned visibility could be reduced to 100 metres or less in some places.

This could lead to difficult driving conditions but the fog is expected to lift during the morning.

Met Office chief forecaster Eddy Carroll said: “A stagnant, moist airmass covers many parts of the UK.

“Where skies were clear during the night, falling temperatures have led to the formation of fog, particularly across south-eastern areas of the UK.

“This will slowly clear this morning.”

A yellow weather warning for fog, which is the lowest level of warning, means some airports may close for short periods and extra care should be taken when travelling, but conditions will not persist.
