MIDSOMER Murders creator Anthony Horowitz joined an Oxford school to help celebrate its 150th birthday.

Mr Horowitz visited Summer Fields prep school, Summertown, on Tuesday afternoon and met some of its pupils.

He didn’t miss the opportunity to promote the latest book in his Alex Rider series, Russian Roulette, the title of which was suggested to him by a young offender.

Mr Horowitz said: “It was fun to come to a school as famous as Summer Fields, particularly on their 150th anniversary. I am also very grateful to them for their support for my charity, Kidscape.”

National charity Kidscape tackles bullying in schools and helps prevent sexual abuse.
