AN OXFORD drug dealer has been jailed after more than £9,000 of cocaine was found in his house.

Derrick Slater, pictured, of Birchfield Close, Blackbird Leys, admitted possessing the Class A drug with intent to supply, as well as growing cannabis and owning a banned CS gas spray. The 33-year-old was told by Judge Peter Ross that dealers such as him “peddle misery” by supplying drugs which damage communities.

Matthew Walsh, prosecuting yesterday at Oxford Crown Court, said police raided the house, where Slater lives with his father, on June 11 this year.

He said they found 157.17g of cocaine with an estimated street value of as much as £9,240, with at least seven young cannabis plants.

Also discovered was £300 cash, agents which could be mixed with cocaine, scales and a list of customers on a mobile phone, the barrister added.

Mr Walsh said some of Slater’s sent text messages were threatening. One read: “Don’t make me come looking for you, you better come up with some f***ing money.”

Judge Ross sentenced him to four years and eight months in prison and told him to pay a £120 victim surcharge.
