YOUNG hospital patients sang their hearts out on Friday to raise funds for sick and disabled children.

The youngsters came together at the John Radcliffe Hospital to record their version of a song for charity Rosie’s Rainbow Fund and Giving Tuesday UK.

Former EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin, who played Lisa Fowler in the soap, joined the little singers at the hospital.

Rosie’s Rainbow Fund patron Ms Benjamin said: “It was a huge privilege for me to be able to sing along with some of the young patients and their parents here at John Radcliffe, all of whom benefit from the amazing music and aromatherapy support provided by our special charity. I was immensely moved by the courage of these children and families who are going through such a stressful time.”

The song, You Paint the Rainbow, will be edited into a film including children singing from New York and South Africa.

It was written by Rosie’s Rainbow Fund founder Carolyn Mayling in honour of her daughter Rosie, who was treated and later died at the Headington hospital.

The Charities Aid Foundation will host the UK’s first Giving Tuesday event on December 2, to encourage the country to do something charitable.
