FARINGDON is the third best place for families to live in England and Wales, a new report claims.

Family Investments has published its annual ranking of “hotspots” and the Oxfordshire town has risen to third place, from ninth last year.

The report highlighted local schools with above-average results, its leisure centre and good path networks.

It found the average price of a two-bed home in Faringdon was £188,309 and the median yearly salary was £24,794.

Top of the rankings was St Bees, in Cumbria.
