A man is due to appear in court today charged with causing the collision that killed 14-year-old schoolgirl Liberty Baker.

Nineteen-year-old Robert Blackwell, of Hayway Lane, Weald, near Bampton, was charged on November 8 of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He is due to appear at Banbury Magistrates’ Court at 2pm.

Liberty, of Thorney Leys, Witney, died on June 30 when she was struck by a car which mounted the kerb in Curbridge Road.

Two other 14-year-old girls, who attended Henry Box School with Liberty, and a man were also injured in the incident.
