RECYCLED CDs topped two totem poles created by Wantage’s King Alfred’s Academy pupils and visitors who use a centre for people with learning disabilities.

The colourful sculptures will brighten up a new sensory garden at Wantage’s Charlton Centre when it opens in the new year.

Pupils created the artwork with visitors to the Charlton Village Road centre, and they were unveiled on Friday.

Centre user Marianne Campbell, from Wantage, said she had really enjoyed creating the totem poles.
