THE cast of city pantomime Beauty And The Beast took time off rehearsals to visit Helen and Douglas House children’s hospice in East Oxford.

Actors including Beauty Sammy Andrews, Beast Alan Vicary and Prince Michael Pickering met families, children and staff and gave out free tickets to the show.

The show will run at Oxford Playhouse to January 18.

Lin Crowley, spokesman for the Magdalen Road hospice, said: “It was really lovely to see the children from Playhouse.

“They showed great interest in the tour and met four young people who were intrigued to see the Beast, Beauty and the Prince.

“They all had a lovely time and we are grateful that the cast took time out to come and visit.”

Sammy Andrews, who is playing Beauty, said: “We really enjoyed the visit to Helen and Douglas House and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet the children.”
