A PENSIONER was “severely” injured when he was attacked in his car by a motorcyclist in Cutteslowe, police said.

The said the victim, 72, was turning right out of Carlton Road at about 4.30pm on Tuesday when he was overtaken by a motorcyclist.

During the overtake the motorcycle and the car collided. Police said the motorcyclist then dismounted, approached the man’s car and opened the door.

He then allegedly punched the driver in the face, causing a cut, severe bruising and swelling to his face.

Police said the biker then removed his helmet and used it to hit the car’s windscreen, but it was not damaged.

Thames Valley Police did not release information about the incident until today.

The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

The attacker is being described as white, 6ft, slim, with short dark hair. He was wearing a motorbike jacket, an orange high-visibility jacket and work boots.

Police said the motorcyclist was riding a Triumph Motorcycle and the victim was driving a blue VW Golf.

PC Katie Ward said: “This was an aggressive attack on a 72-year-old man causing him severe injuries to his face.

“We need to identify the offender in this crime as soon as possible.

“Did anyone at the scene see the registration place? Did anyone recognise him? Has anyone noticed someone who rides a Triumph bike having repairs done to it that are consistent with clipping a car? Or a damaged helmet? Has the offender spoken with anyone about this incident?"
