A Merseyside man has been charged with a drink driving offence by police in connection with a collision on the A34.

Ryan Donald, 25, of Burns Avenue, Wallasey, was charged on Thursday with one count of driving a motor vehicle when above the alcohol limit, Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Hannah Williams said.

It followed a crash between two cars on the dual carriageway near Botley which demolished a bus shelter and put one person in hospital.

Ms Williams said Donald had been bailed to appear in Oxford Magistrates’ Court on January 2.
