WYEVALE Garden Centre in Bicester is raising money to support Marie Curie nurses’ work providing free home and hospice care to people with terminal cancer.
As part of a national campaign, the Bicester Avenue garden centre has been collecting items to be donated to the charity’s shops and selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a family trip to Iceland.
A percentage of the sale cost for certain items, such as 40p from Christmas jute bags, is being given to the charity.
Garden centre manager Helen Pyttlik said: “We’re so pleased to be helping Marie Curie this Christmas.
“We know that many people being cared for by Marie Curie nurses like to be at home or in the hospice because it means they can enjoy their own garden or the hospice’s.
“It’s great to know that people who love gardens and gardening will be helping terminally ill people be cared for at home or in a hospice this festive season.”
A memory Christmas tree is also in store during the festive season for customers to leave a message in tribute to loved ones.
