“I LIKE playing with the mud; I’ve got a red bucket”.
These are the words of twoyear- old Tyrion Savage, who was full of the simple joys of spring on Tuesday.
Tyrion went along to a Forest Tots group at Hill End Outdoor Centre, near Farmoor, who were searching for the signs of spring.
The sessions run every Tuesday during term-time and give parents and carers the chance to explore the natural world through play.
Activities range from playing in the “mud kitchen” to collecting sticks, tackling the giant hill or just finding calm in natural surroundings.
The sessions are based on the “forest school” ethos, where children are free to play and follow their own curiosity.
Refreshments were supplied for tots and adults, along with support from the Oxfordshire Forest School Service team.
