A DAY nursery in Steventon has been ranked ‘good’ by Ofsted inspectors following an earlier ‘requires improvement’ rating.

Tiny Toes Day Nursery in The Green, was rated as requiring improvement following its prior inspection in July 2014.

But following a visit by inspector Sara Hope on July 30 this year it was moved up one place to ‘good’. Ms Hope praised the nursery, which has 44 children on its roll.

She said teaching was good and staff had strong bonds with children.

She added: “Staff provide children with good educational programmes that meet their learning and development across all areas.

“Children are happy and explore confidently.

"Staff motivate children and have high expectations of what they can achieve.

“Staff set a good example for children and offer them praise.

“They encourage them to share, take turns and cooperate with each other. They provide children with healthy meals."
