MANY years ago in rural Littlemore, St Mary and St Nicholas Church held its harvest services to thank God for His gift of food.
Now the area is no longer an agricultural heartland but the church has additional thanks to pay at harvest time – for the amazing artistic talent within the community.
St Mary and St Nicholas in St Nicholas Road is hosting its annual Harvest of the Talents for the ninth year in a row.
The event sees the church filled with paintings, knitting, sculptures and other artworks from people in the area as well as schools and community groups.

There will also be a concert featuring local musicians.
Assistant curate the Rev Tom Albinson said the talents of people in Littlemore never ceased to amaze him.
He said: “I am always taken by surprise by the wonderful talent that is around and suddenly comes forward and the skill that people have.
“It is great that we can offer the church as a space for people to show their talent.
“Where else could you have nursery kids and professional artists showing their work together?”
The concert on Saturday, October 17, starts at 7.30pm.
