Sir Ian McKellen to launch new Equity branch
Actor Sir Ian McKellen will open a new branch of Equity in the city on Monday, October 19.
Set up in the 1930s, Equity is the trade union for performance artists and creative practitioners across the UK and has more than 35,000 members.
The Oxford General Branch was approved in February this year. Its official launch will be held at Oxford Playhouse, in Beaumont Street, at 7pm with Sir Ian as guest speaker. All Equity members and other members of the entertainment industry are welcome.
