POLICE believe an elderly man who helped a cyclist who came off his bike and died in Abingdon may help them find out what happened.
The 85-year-old fell from his bike around 3.55pm in Boxhill Road and received help from passers-by but died later at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Investigating Officer Ed Crofts, of Abingdon Roads Policing, said: “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen the cyclist before he fell and anyone who may have assisted him at the roadside before he was taken ill who have not already spoken to the police.
“In particular I would like to speak to an elderly man wearing a hat who I believe assisted the injured man."
Anyone with any information which could assist the investigation is asked to call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting URN 1074 20/11.
