MULTI award-winning comedian, Stewart Lee is the new patron for the Oxford Playhouse.
The theatre, in Beaumont Street, announced Mr Lee would be stepping up to the role as part of a series of new artistic partnerships.
Lauren Meehan, press and marketing officer for the theatre, said: "Stewart Lee needs little introduction and we extend a very warm welcome to him as a new Patron of Oxford Playhouse.
"He has written for radio, television, newspapers and magazines and performed as a stand-up all over the world, including regular performances on the Oxford Playhouse stage."
The theatre also announced three new Associate Artists, Barney Norris who has recently been nominated for The Times Sky Arts South Bank Breakthrough Award, Liz Cooke one of the UKs leading set designers and playwright James Phillips.
