Remainers have come up with the ultimate Brexit conspiracy - that we're all living in the Matrix.

Twitter went into meltdown yesterday after Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, who starred in the iconic trilogy, was spotted visiting the Houses of Parliament.

The megastar also found time to have a picture taken with none other than Wantage MP Ed Vaizey.

The Minister for Culture joked Brexit was clearly the Matrix.

Other Twitter users were quick to get in on the action.

Sky reporter Beth Rigby said the actor was invited to Parliament as a guest of Conservative MP for Stratford-on-Avon, Nadhim Zahawi, although it is unclear what for.

Reeves is currently working on Bill & Ted 3, which is rumoured to be set largely in London.

The new film will follow on from 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey which starred Reeves as Ted Theodore Logan alongside Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston, Esq..
