POLICE busted a suspected drug deal in Didcot leading to the arrest and guilty plea of a 21-year-old man.

Driss Dekhissi, of Linacre Road, London pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, heroin, on Wednesday at Oxford Magistrates' Court. 

On July 14 officers arrested Dekhissi who was in the middle of a suspected drug deal on Sandringham Road.

As officers approached he was seen frantically trying to hide something in the back of his trousers. 

As he was removed from the grey Rover 75 he threw a mobile phone into a neighbouring garden.

Four wraps were recovered from next to Dekhissi's seat in the car.

He was remanded on July 19 and while in custody he passed a package, which had been in his body, containing a substantial amount of what is believed to be a class A drug.

Det Con Charles Boshell, of Abingdon Police station, said: “Through professional and tenacious investigatory work by officers from South and Vale Problem Solving Team, a significant quantity of class A drugs are no longer bound for the streets of Didcot and Abingdon.

“Thames Valley Police will continue to work tirelessly alongside our partners and stakeholders to ensure that drug dealers will not continue to cause misery in our communities.”

He will be sentenced on Friday, August 19 at Oxford Crown Court
