A DAREDEVIL pensioner has had to postpone her wing-walk after high winds and downpours make it too dangerous for her to fly.

Thrill-seeking Trish Wagstaff was all prepared to take to the skies on the wings of a plane on Saturday until she received a call from the pilot who said it was "too dangerous" for them to fly.

But the 84-year-old said she was determined for the stunt to go ahead and has rescheduled it for Sunday, September 4 at 12 noon.

The mum-of-two who lives in Appleton said: "I was a bit disappointed but the pilot phoned up and said he would not be able to take me up because of the weather.

"All my family had come down to see me take off but we just ended up going out for a meal.

"But the plan is for two week's time.

"This is something I have always wanted to do and I'm not nervous yet because I have not got up there."

It is not the first time Mrs Wagstaff will be taking on a terrifying challenge.

The past she has been skydiving, zip-lining and swam with sharks.

She added: "I have been collecting for Cancer Research UK and the money will hopefully go towards the Churchill Hospital who are desperately in need of a cyclotron machine because they currently do not have one."

She is hoping to beat the record with her fundraising, topping £15,251 she raised for her skydive.

Mrs Wagstaff is collecting sponsors door to door but anyone that wants to help out can also donate sponsorship to the Cancer Research UK shop in Bury Street, Abingdon.
