A SEA of yellow rippled through the Kassam Stadium on Saturday as fans held hundreds of Oxford United flags aloft to revive a club tradition.
The 'Flag Day' coincided with a match against Peterborough United in which Oxford won 2-1, bringing back memories of David Rush’s famous goal celebration with the corner flag at the Manor Ground during a 4-0 win over the Posh in 1996.
United called on fans to bring as many flags and banners, old and new, to the game as possible to cheer the players on.
