CANDYFLOSS, hook-a-duck and screams of youngsters on the the dodgems made for a joyous weekend at Botley Park.

Four-year-old Mae Oliver was one of the lucky winners on the popular fairground stall and after a bit of coaching from dad, Todd, helped her scoop a duck to win a prize.

Mr Oliver, 34, said: "She absolutely loved it and was delighted when we took away a fish shaped bubble gun.

"It is a shame the weather was not a bit better but I know Mae had a great time all the same.

"We also went on the runaway train and inside the 'Crooked Cottage' where there was a ball pit and tyres for the children to jump through."

The graphic designer who lives in Eynsham said the fun fair was "a great family day out."

One and a half-year-old, Marley Foley, was just one of the children who enjoyed countless rides on a miniature fire engine.

Mum, Frankie Parry, said she had cried the moment they tried to take her off.

The soon-to-be mum of two from Abingdon, said: "She has had such a good time.

"When the ride stopped and we took her off she started crying because she wanted another go.

"I've had to put her in one of the seats that has a roof, because she is a climber I know she would try and get out one of the open-top cars."
