FORMER Education Secretary Shirley Williams is among seven people who will be handed honorary degrees by Oxford University.
Baroness Williams, who co-founded the Social Democratic Party, will be made a doctor of civil law along with lawyer and social justice activist Bryan A Stevenson.
Historian Dr Robert Darnton and architect Frank Gehry will be made doctors of letters while cardiologist Professor Eugene Braunwald and Professor Joan Argetsinger Steitz will both become doctors of science.
Composer Professor Judith Weir will be made a doctor of music.
All seven will receive their degrees on June 21.
