READERS are being urged to nominate children’s hospitals units and wards in Oxford to win a new state-of-the-art cinema room for its patients.
National firm Finite Solutions is prepared to kit out a worthy hospital unit with a £15,000 cinema system, complete with an HD projector, screen, games console, speakers and subwoofers, and a Blu-ray player with a selection of popular children’s movies and TV series.
Visitors, patients, staff or members of the public can nominate a particular hospital ward or facility that could put the makeover to good use.
They would need to submit a short description of what the new facility could be used for, such as hosting a Disney film marathon, or a gaming tournament, with a supporting image of the room.
The company’s consultancy director, Simon Mathieson, said: “We really wanted to team up with a hospital or care unit to do something positive and fun for a group of deserving young people.
“Hospitals typically lack the funding required for such facilities, and we hope to bring fun and relaxation to hospital residents and visitors by installing a fantastic cinema room that everyone can enjoy for many years to come. We would invite people across Oxford to nominate a ward.”
Oxford Children’s Hospital is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a special appeal to raise money for more play areas and parent accommodation.
To nominate a ward, by Friday, May 12 at 4pm, go to finitesolutions.co.uk/cine-makeover
