Man hit with bottle during brawl

A MAN was hit over the head with a bottle in a brawl in Corn Street, Witney, outside the Eagle Tavern pub.

A fight broke out between two men in the street at about 10.55pm on Friday and one of them, a 19-year-old, was struck with a bottle by a woman.

He was treated in hospital for a small gash to his head.

Pc Philip Wood said: “We believe the disturbance began outside USA Fried Chicken.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Corn Street and witnessed any part of the incident or knows the identity of the man the 19-year-old was arguing with.”

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and released on bail until May 11. Anyone with information should call Pc Wood on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
