Cyclist in collision with coach

A CYCLIST was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital with a suspected broken arm this morning after a collision with an X90 London-bound coach.

The collision between the 40-year-old cyclist and the Volvo coach happened shortly before 7am in Abingdon Road.

What was a X90 bus doing down Abingdon Road?

It must of been Oxford bound!

It must have been out of service, surely?

I hope the cyclist is alright - it can be very shocking to the system.

Coaches more dangerous than even buses in and around Oxford - the only safe place for and cyclists is actually as passengers! It's not so much that buses and coaches may speed (and as a bus user, can say they do!) so much as their extreme length and major visibility issues at side and rear of vehicles, especially when overtaking cyclists. Quite frankly, there are just too-many buses and coaches around Oxford. Many roads were never designed for 40' psvs - and especially on that crazy service to Blackbird Leys, where 46' buses clog-up the roads every four minutes!
