Stephen Fry will be reunited with comedy partner Hugh Laurie in a new animated film based on the work of Oscar Wilde, it has been announced.

The British actors, who have collaborated on numerous projects including 1990s television hit Jeeves and Wooster and sketch show A Bit Of Fry And Laurie, are to both star in an adaptation of Wilde's short story The Canterville Ghost.

It is the first time the pair have worked together in over 13 years, according to the feature film's producers.

Fry, who met Laurie at Cambridge University, will play the title character in the film, which is being partly funded by the BFI Film Fund. It is due for release over Christmas 2014.
