FORMER Botley resident and keen bowls man Ken Goff has died aged 89.
Mr Goff, right, passed away last Friday at Westbury Grange Care Home in Newport Pagnell, after a chest infection.
He and his wife Doris moved to Botley in 1955. Through his work as an estate agent he was responsible for selling the new homes on the Elms Rise estate.
His working career ended as deputy district valuer in the Valuation Office Agency in Marston Road, Oxford.
Mr Goff was an active member of West Oxford Bowls Club for more than 20 years and served as president of Oxfordshire Bowling Association in 1985.
He was also a member of Oxford Bach Choir and the choir of SS Peter and Paul Church in Botley where he was also a lay reader.
He later suffered from Alzheimer’s and moved to the care home last January.
Mrs Goff, a founding member of Botley Mothers’ Union, died in March last year aged 90. Mr Goff leaves four sons, Jeremy, Stephen, Andrew and Michael, and six grandchildren.
A family funeral service will be held at Crownhill Crematorium, Milton Keynes, on Friday, February 24, at 2pm.
