Common sense also seems to be sadly lacking following the introduction of South Oxfordshire District Council’s new wheelie bin waste collection service.
Inevitably with such a fundamental change, mistakes will be made — it would be miraculous if they were not — and some people have been delivered bins in error.
But for people to face having to deal with a less than helpful telephone hotline, and then to be told it would take three months to have their bins returned to a depot just a mile away, is just ridiculous.
