Sir – Well I remember reading about Dave Brodie’s exploits in Motoring News every week, usually driving the black Escort “Run Baby Run”.
However, I do hope that the forthcoming film about the life and times of Dave Brodie (First Person, May 14) is better researched than the article.
Having stated that Brodie was a very successful motorsport star of the 1960s and 1970s, Martyn Chalk then goes on to say that he started motor racing 35 years ago (er that would be 1980 then, right? He actually started motor racing 52 years ago in 1963).
Martyn goes on to say that Roy Pierpoint was the 1975 British Saloon Car Champion. That should say 1965 in a Ford Mustang. Andy Rouse in a Triumph Dolomite Sprint was the 1975 British Saloon Car Champion.
Please pass on to Martyn that I am looking forward to the film, and if he wants any help proof reading, I would be only to happy to oblige.
