Sir – Bravo bravo! Our brilliant county traffic management boffins at New Road HQ have excelled themselves just in time for the Christmas rush.
The new railway station at the old grain silo site at Kidlington is fine, the new crossing to and from the station is fine too, but the position of the new bus stop is likely to either cause death, injury, unnecessary risk or all three. It really is in a stupid position, if it is needed at all?
With the 500 and 700 buses going directly into the station, should the passengers already fighting for spaces on buses to and from Kidlington, Bicester and beyond, lose their sought-after seats to others who can catch a different bus directly to their shorter destination?
Surely rail passengers should be encouraged to use the buses going to and from the new station, rather than take up seats to that point, that through travellers on routes into Kidlington or Bicester, a further distance, should be using?
Merry Christmas . . . if you set out now!
