Sir – Stuart Skyte’s abusive letter does nothing to address the serious housing issue around Oxford.
Simply building on the Green Belt does nothing to address the problem either. Mr Skyte acknowledges that housing is currently unaffordable in Oxford. How does building more unaffordable houses address this?
The only beneficiaries of this folly are local landowners, largely the Oxford colleges, who will see their £10,000/acre Green Belt land become £1,000,000/acre building land, with the associated housing being at current or higher prices.
There will be no benefit to house buyers, especially key/low-paid workers.
Instead of crafting childish insults and rhyming couplets, perhaps Mr Skyte could wake up to the reality of the situation.
