Far too many signs

The Oxford Times: Far too many signs Far too many signs

Sir – This sign has been at the Water Eaton park-and-ride for the better part of a decade, I’d guess. Every day, many buses an hour go down the left-hand fork to the bus part of the park-and-ride.

I feel either the drivers should be prosecuted for going down a road clearly marked as closed to buses (or perhaps the highways department should get out the Highway Code and put up the right sign).

It all goes to show that drivers know instinctively what is a sensible sign and ignore the rest — we just have far too many of them.

Hear hear - Oxford is saturated with ugly, unnecessary signs. 1500 new 20 mph limit signs didn't help. Let's have a clean-up.

NO!

You'll put Oxford County Council's highways department out of a job! They are only qualified to install road signs and traffic lights - not actually fixing roads or improving junctions.

Think before you type ;)
