CASH for investment in cycling must be made available to community groups and councils, Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood told a debate in the Commons.

The Conservative MP said on Thursday that Oxford is a “very congested city” and “filled with cycling enthusiasts”, backing projects including a path between Eynsham and Dean Court via Farmoor on the B4044.

She said: “This is about not only the absolute amount of money available for investment, but ensuring that the money is accessible to community groups and local councils when they need it.”
