A YOUNG woman from Steventon died after a car crashed into a tree yesterday morning.
Hampshire Constabulary is investigating the collision, which happened in Basingstoke and invovled a woman in her 20s.
She was driving when her car came off the road and collided with a tree at about 6am yesterday in Bracknell Lane, Hartley Wintney.
She was taken to hospital where she later died. Her immediate family have been informed, police said.
Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman Meline Turkington confirmed the woman came from Steventon.
Officers will not be naming the woman until formal identification procedures have ended.
Anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Eastleigh on 101, quoting Operation Pineham.
