THEY are usually scratchy jumpers – knitted lovingly by nans – that we hate to wear when Christmas comes.

But Tracy Webb and Rachel Haines hope the traditional Christmas pullover can support a good cause this year.

The two nursery nurses at Abingdon’s The Manor Prep School will wear different festive jumpers every day of Advent.

They are asking everyone who has a laugh at their expense to donate to Oxfordshire Autism Support and Information Service (OASIS).

Ms Haines said: “As great lovers of Christmas jumpers we are excited to be taking part in the challenge and hopefully raising a lot of money for OASIS.”

Abingdon and Witney College is getting into the jolly jumper action, holding a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday, December 12.

Students will wear their best-worst ‘yuletide yarns’ in exchange for a donation to Save the Children.
