ABINGDON residents with “smelly” water coming out of their taps are still waiting to find out the cause and whether the water is safe to drink.
More than 30 residents have complained about bad-smelling water to Thames Water since last night.
This morning the company left hundreds of bottles of water on the affected streets such as Mill Road, but has not yet worked out what the problem is.
Spokeswoman Sarah Sharpe said samples were being tested at a laboratory in Reading this morning.
She said the problem was almost certainly linked to a burst water main in the area yesterday morning that caused low pressure.
