A COLLEGE is up for an award for its accounting training courses.
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) has released this year's shortlist for its annual award ceremony, which celebrates education providers, students and apprentices in its field.
Abingdon & Witney College is up for 'medium-sized' training provider of the year, against three other contenders.
Training institutions that run AAT qualifications can put themselves forward for a range of categories, and judges champion those that demonstrate excellence in the delivery of the courses.
The college was shortlisted for the same award last year but just missed out, but has high hopes this time around.
Angela Hayles, head of faculty for the college's Oxfordshire Business and Enterprise School, said: "We are going into the conference full of confidence that our offering is up there with the best.
"It all stems from a strong focus on support, inclusivity, and ambition.
"We want students to develop their own self-confidence and resilience before progressing into the world of employment."
She said the short bookkeeping courses were a 'stepping stone' for those less confident with accounting concepts.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday.
