Driver seriously injured in Abingdon crash (From The Oxford Times)

I arrived there just after it had happened, not a pretty sight.
That stretch of road is a problem as far as buses are concerned, there are two bus stops almost opposite each other, which often causes a bottle neck as does the daily log jam of Tappins coaches picking up from the Convent, as many as 5 at a time are queued on the main road every day around 3.30 reducing the road to a single lane. Perhaps its time the Highways people had a look at this road and installed some proper lay-by bus stops and made the convent provide a proper pick up point on their premises? similar to Abingdon school, they've plenty of room.
Lets hope the person who was injured makes a speady recovery.

Agree about the Tappins coaches, police should do them for obstruction, professional drivers should know it's not safe to create a 150ft long road block just before a busy junction.

If you think that is bad then try passing the quarter of a mile queue of parked cars outside the Catholic School on the Curbridge Road in Witney, which probably has the same traffic density at peak times. Add to that a traffic light controlled crossing in the middle, to which I have no objection, but it compounds the traffic flow problems. Add to that the frozen up windscreens with just a small patch cleared by many mums who have absolutely NO IDEA of the problems they are causing. One day a regrettable incident will take place, perhaps then the police might/maybe/may/poss

Until then chaos and mayhem rule, sense seems to have been by-passed and legs being used by many seems not to be an option for the over weight kids who crave the car, and 4x4, and of course bone idle parents who refuse to walk their kids to school, many travel less than half a mile. Tragic and pathetic.

Unfortunately this is now a fatal accident.

I need to express my disgust with Newsquest and Oxford Mail once again. What is the point of you exactly? Publishing nearly half dozen stories in one day of someone moving into a house in Rose Hill, while updates on this story, and others are non-existant. Jack FM reported the fatality this evening. BBC News Oxford have an article about a robbery and stabbing off Cowley Road yesterday, yet all the Oxford Mail can do is print non-stories. Then they will delete any commment they don't agree with, like this one.

Since I can get better local news practically anywhere I won't bother with this site, let alone the hard copies of the paper, and then you can't get profit off the adverts littered everywhere.

I totally agree, it is appalling that the main page of the Herald Series and the Oxford Mail website is full of "Hamster Rides Skateboard" Stories and not real news!
