THE great outdoors was explored by adults and children alike at an event in Abingdon.
The Earth Trust Centre in Little Wittenham hosted the family “bushcraft day” earlier this month.
Among the amateur adventurers taking part was Alan Burke and his three children Ollie, 12, Leo, nine, and Max, six.
Mr Burke said: “We booked it as a birthday trip for Ollie, who is mad-keen on the outdoors.
“It was a really good mix of activities, from how to handle a knife to how to make a fire. It was a really great day.
“It was fantastic fun, the kids really loved the cooking, and the guys there were really good.”
He said the event and venue had been accommodating and child-friendly.
