Nine hundred people in Oxfordshire were without electricity earlier this afternoon following a power cut in Deddington.

A fault to overhead equipment caused the power cut at 4.30pm, which affected people in Deddington, Hempton and Over Norton.

The traffic lights on the A4260 were also affected.

Scottish and Southern Electric confirmed that by 5.15pm power was restored to all but 11 of the affected properties.

The traffic lights has also been fixed.

SSE said they are working to get power restored to the remaining 11 homes, on Hempton Road and Milton Gated Road, as soon as possible.
