A HOSPICE caring for residents with life-threatening illnesses is calling on the county to join them in offering a fundraising cup of tea.

Katharine House Hospice, in Adderbury, is launching its Care for a Cuppa fundraising campaign on Saturday and wants supporters to organise a tea party to help raise funds.

The first Care for a Cuppa campaign raised £10,000 after more than 50 events were held across the county in March.

Community fundraiser Sheila Norton, who lives in Adderbury, said: “It would be wonderful if it did reach as much as that.

“I think the campaign is something that lots of different people can do whether it’s just a small event or one much bigger.

“Everybody likes to have cupcakes and bake cakes, so it’s something that has a wide appeal.”

The hospice provides palliative care services to patients and families including home nursing, bereavement support and a day hospice.
