FIREFIGHTERS were called twice within 14 hours to rescue people stuck in the same public toilet.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service received the first call to the toilet in Banbury Market Place at about 10.30am on Friday.

The second call was received early on Saturday, shortly after midnight.

A spokeswoman said that firefighters from Banbury fire station used tools to release the jammed door of the toilet on both occasions.

No other details of the incidents – such as the sex of each person – were available.
