TWO young men were punched in the face by a group of four other men in Banbury.

At about 7.15pm on Wednesday the victims of the attack, who are in their early 20s, disturbed two men at the side of their house in Woodfield.

After the pair began to move away, the victims followed them to question them about what they had been doing.

Thames Valley Police said two more men then joined the pair who had been outside the house and the four of them then turned on the two victims and attacked them.

After the attack, the four men drove away in a silver BMW 5-series saloon with the rear numberplate missing.

The car was being driven by a fifth man.

One of the men involved in the attack is described as being white, 5ft 10in to 6ft, in his late 20s to early 30s and with blond hair and a “stocky build”.

He was wearing black clothes, a balaclava and had a knuckle duster.

The other three attackers were all wearing similar dark-coloured clothing and were said to be between 5ft and 6ft.

Det Sgt James Bonner, of Banbury CID, said: “We are keen to hear from any member of the public who saw anything suspicious in this area, including out-of-place vehicles or people knocking on doors trying to sell goods.”

Anyone with information about the attack should call Det Sgt Bonner at Banbury police station on Thames Valley Police’s non-emergency number, 101.

Information can also be given via the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
