BANBURY MP Sir Tony Baldry has said people need to accept changes to services at the Horton General Hospital.

In a toast at the Banbury Town and Trades at the Felons’ Dinner on Tuesday he said: “I think that we need to focus on the big picture.

“The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust employs some 11,000 people and there are going to inevitably be changes in patterns of employment.

“There will inevitably from time to time be times when new services are moved to the Horton, such as the dialysis unit, or moving outpatients services to the Horton.”

He said: “It is simply not sensible to say that any such changes threaten the integrity of the Horton as a general hospital. They don’t.”
